Whether we’re wanting a quick meal on the go after a daily workout at the gym or we’re looking for an easy after school snack for the kids, smoothies are super simple to make and even more delicious to enjoy. Smoothies are great for breakfast, lunch and sometimes even dinner.
We tend to associate smoothies with being healthy, but a healthy smoothie is not always a guarantee. Like most foods, healthy isn’t only defined by the meal itself, but more importantly, the ingredients. Some store bought smoothies are loaded with added sugar and are void of any real substantial nutrition. Not to mention, they can be quite expensive! An easy way to avoid paying for an overpriced store bought smoothie, that may or may not provide adequate nutrition, is by making a homemade smoothie with fresh flavor and fiber. How? By including Hellowater®.
Homemade Smoothies with Hellowater®
One of the best things about homemade smoothies is we can make them entirely on our own with whatever ingredients we have available in the kitchen. Plus, smoothies are a culinary creation that can easily support almost any diet lifestyle and taste preferences. It doesn’t matter if it’s dairy-free, gluten-free, Kosher, low-glycemic, Paleo, soy-free, Vegan or anything in between, smoothies are incredibly versatile and can be catered to fit individual tastes no matter how unique.
Flavored Water
Our team loves smoothies. Many of us own blenders or magic bullets and pack them with layers of lucious fresh fruit, but a problem we encounter is choosing the base of our smoothie. (The smoothie struggle can be so real some days). Most smoothies use coconut water, fruit juice or milk as a base. Some people prefer classic cow’s milk while others opt for a plant-based alternative like nut milk, oat milk or seed milk.
Our first instinct has always been to grab fruit juice like apple juice or orange juice, but both are naturally higher in sugar content. Plain water is another easy option, but let’s be real, it’s way too dilutive and makes the fresh fruit flavors less fruity. What else can be used for a smoothie base? Enter hellowater®.
Fiber Infused Water
Not only does hellowater® keep the sweet in the smoothie, without adding any additional sugar, it helps create the perfect smoothie consistency. Not too watery, but not too thick. Plus, there are so many flavors to choose from, it makes the smoothie choices and flavor combinations absolutely endless.
Did we mention the extra five grams of added fiber? The additional fiber can aid in curbing our appetite and helps promote a healthy gut. Talk about a win win! Oh and forget about additional calories, each serving of hellowater® is only ten calories and is free of any artificial sweeteners and sugar. That means more room for your favorite smoothie ingredients.
Now we can forget about rummaging through our desk drawer to find a granola bar because that store bought smoothie didn’t do the trick. Instead, we can create a homemade smoothie using hellowater®. It is a delicious and easy way to stay hydrated while properly supporting digestive health.
Go ahead and say so long to store bought smoothies with added sugar and say hello to homemade smoothies made with great tasting fiber infused hellowater®. It’s water that works, even in smoothies!
